So we had to choose an elective module to take for my second year of study. Tough call, as I was pretty interested in all the available options, but at the end of it all I am a technologist, one who had previously written a short course that put technology right at the heart of its delivery, so not plumping for the e-learning module would probably be a bit daft.
Our assignment is to create our own VLE, by which I assume we are to create a VLE-based course rather than develop our own Moodle (else I'll be brushing up on my PHP!). Accompanying that we need a reflective blog that includes a bit of a write-up on the use of e-learning in education. That gives me a good excuse to kick this blog back into action again!
Over the next couple of months or so I'll be posting semi-regularly on my development progress. Not so much initially - I have another assignment to write and oh-my-God am I behind on it - but as time goes on you should see plenty of discussions about my chosen subject, platform-of-choice and other relevant stuff.
I'll be tagging all posts so you can filter out the non-relevant ones. You can click this convenient link to filter them, though right now this is the only post that will show up.
Update (19 Mar): I hid myself away and plugged away in the background, building my VLE. The bulk of it all is done now, though lots of tweaks are needed. I'll be posting fairly regularly for the next week or two as I format my notes and research.
